BirdDog is a company designed from the ground up around the NDI standard for IP video delivery. Originally developed by NewTek to transport high-quality, low-latency video in a manner suitable for live studio production, NDI has gained acceptance in a variety of applications and BirdDog's team are THE specialists in NDI.
BirdDog started out in 2016 with a simple mission – to solve workflow problems and save customers money in the process; by reducing the amount of equipment they need to buy.
Their first product, Studio NDI, is still the most complete NDI codec on the planet.
Built around BirdDog’s custom NDI® silicon chip and housed in an aircraft-grade aluminium case, Studio NDI has been engineered from the ground up for real-world users. Featuring SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs, built-in cross converter, active loop outs, dual NDI® encoding, audio intercom system, return feed, NDI® tally system, PoE, and compatibility with BirdDog’s Comms and Central Apps, Studio NDI is the perfect addition to any live producers toolkit.
The company continues to build on their success with new products offering 4K resolution, small form factor codecs, and PTZ cameras with NDI built-in. With complimentary software tools for intercom and NDI routing, BirdDog offers solutions for any NDI workflow.
