Konos Sound is a New Zealand manufacturer of beamforming microphone arrays for professionals in broadcast, live sport, film and commercial AV.
Where a conventional microphone has one capsule and one fixed polar pattern, a Konos array forms its pickup in software across 80 MEMS elements. One microphone can hold a 60° pencil beam on a target, open out to a 300° room, aim itself electronically without a gimbal or an operator, or deliver a matched stereo pair - and any of it can be changed live from a browser or a control API.
Four independently configurable channels stream at once over a single PoE cable using AES67 / SMPTE ST 2110, so one device replaces several microphones, their cabling and their rigging positions.
