Halter Technical’s WildTrax Recording Engine continues to evolve rapidly, with meaningful updates across recent releases. 

Version 2026.5 introduced key workflow improvements, including a new chunk field for quickly splitting large polyphonic recordings into manageable file sizes, expanded pre-roll controls, and a customizable status bar with built-in RAM usage monitoring for better system visibility during recording. 

Version 2026.6 builds on this with deeper timecode capabilities, adding support for Ambient Lockit devices, free-run behaviour when timecode sources disconnect, and automatic frame rate syncing when compatible devices are detected. A new “False Start” folder option and refinements to track naming further improve file organisation on set, alongside ongoing stability enhancements. 

Halter Technical has also introduced WildTrax A2, a companion app for iOS and iPad that enables remote control and monitoring over WiFi. With seamless Bluetooth timecode integration for both Ambient LockitBT and Tentacle Sync devices, WildTrax delivers fast, reliable, cable-free sync on set.
