Ross takes Ultrix to enterprise scale with the new FR30

Ross Video has expanded its Ultrix family with the FR30, its largest hyperconverged media infrastructure platform yet. Designed for large broadcast facilities, live production, sports, OB, and enterprise media environments, the new 30RU platform supports up to 576×576 UHD I/O in a single chassis.

But the real story is not simply scale. FR30 brings routing, multiviewing, audio and video processing, media gateways, production switching, screen processing, and control together within the same software-defined platform. Additional capabilities can be activated through software licensing as requirements change, rather than adding another dedicated hardware system every time the facility needs to grow.

It is also transport agnostic, supporting SDI, SMPTE ST 2110, NDI, Dante, SRT, JPEG XS, and other formats. That allows FR30 to act as a gateway between legacy and next-generation infrastructure, giving facilities the flexibility to transition towards IP at their own pace.

Perhaps most importantly for existing Ultrix users, FR30 retains the same architecture, interchangeable I/O, licensing model, and operational workflows as the rest of the family. Ross now offers a common Ultrix platform stretching from compact 1RU systems through to enterprise-scale infrastructure.
