Haivision used IBC 2026 to showcase two developments aimed at making live video contribution both faster and easier to manage: JPEG XS support on its Makito ONE video transport platform and new AI-powered device management capabilities within Hub 360.
Makito ONE demonstrated JPEG XS encoding and decoding for visually lossless video transport with sub-frame latency. The technology is particularly relevant to high-end sports and remote production, where camera feeds need to move across managed IP networks while maintaining precise timing, colour accuracy, and frame synchronisation for live switching, replay, and referee review.
At the other end of the workflow, Haivision Hub 360 is addressing the operational challenge of managing an expanding fleet of contribution devices. New AI-powered configuration capabilities are designed to assist with the setup, monitoring, and optimisation of encoders, mobile transmitters, and IP gateways from a unified cloud-based master control environment.
Together, the developments reflect the changing requirements of live contribution. It is no longer just about moving high-quality pictures with very low latency. Production teams also need simpler ways to deploy, configure, and manage the growing number of devices involved, particularly across remote production, sports, and newsgathering workflows.
