Gencom and Sound Techniques Unite as Donna Kavanagh Joins as Production Audio Account Manager

Auckland, New Zealand – 30 April 2025 – Gencom Technology is delighted to announce the addition of Donna Kavanagh to the team as Account Manager – Production Audio, marking a new chapter in the evolution of professional audio services in New Zealand as Gencom and Sound Techniques come together.

Donna is a seasoned audio professional with a deep-rooted passion for sound and a career that spans film, television, and live events. She holds a Bachelor of Recording Arts with a focus on audio engineering, and has worked in a wide range of roles including composer, boom operator, AV technician, and sound operator. In addition to her hands-on experience, she shares her expertise as a guest lecturer at SAE Institute, helping to prepare the next generation of sound professionals in New Zealand.

Donna was appointed General Manager of Sound Techniques in 2021, a brand well known throughout New Zealand’s audio community for its decades of service to the professional sound recording market. Most recently she worked for Broadtech Group, where she continued to support Sound Techniques’ customers through a period of transition while continuing to deliver quality solutions and trusted advice.

Now at Gencom, Donna brings a customer base and product portfolio that aligns closely with Gencom’s existing vendor relationships. Her specialist knowledge in production audio further strengthens Gencom’s capabilities in supporting broadcasters, cine production, and live events customers across New Zealand.
