CARTONI debuted the new Pedestal HP Series, advanced encoded fluid heads, the innovative camera Height Detector Sensor (HDS), and introduced the Lifto Twin Pro to the European market.

Lifto Twin Pro

Cartoni debuted, for the first time in Europe, the Lifto Twin Pro at IBC 2024. This enhanced version of the classic Lifto 25 motorized elevation column, is now capable of elevating any PTZ camera to an impressive height of 4 meters (158 in.). The control system for the column has been upgraded, and the Lifto 25/S and Lifto Twin Pro versions can now be operated via Ethernet and managed remotely through the camera's controls. Additionally, it offers variable speed and the ability to store up to 100 preset positions.

The widespread use of PTZ cameras in broadcasting has driven Cartoni to develop various accessories that facilitate their installation in studios and diverse settings, such as conferences, events, functions, sporting contests, houses of worship, and all types of performances. The new generation of PTZ cameras offers image and movement quality that rivals traditional broadcast shots, all within a more compact, versatile, and unobtrusive setup. This results in significantly lower production costs, making it a total win-win solution!

Maxima 5.0 and Maxima 30 Fluid Heads now with innovative camera Height Detector Sensor (HDS)

Cartoni also introduced a height reading accessory at IBC. The Cine-style, super-precise Maxima 5.0 and Maxima 30 Fluid Heads now come equipped with a new Height Detector Sensor (HDS). Mounted on the tilt axis and preset according to the optical centre of the camera configuration, this sensor delivers micrometric precision in measuring the height from the ground. This data is invaluable for camera assistants in determining the shot and is crucial for the VR department when aligning an LED wall or virtual background with the shot.

Cartoni has integrated position tracking into its fluid heads, jibs, and the Lambda 25 nodal head, making it the first company to offer such technology in camera support products. Continuing its legacy as an industry innovator, the company has spent the past decade refining the integration of high-precision, absolute optical encoders into its supports. By placing the encoders directly on the rotation shaft, they ensure exceptionally accurate angular readings. This data is provided in a straightforward, open protocol that is compatible with any image composition software.

These encoded E-Heads are designed not only for advanced special effects, VFX, and similar applications but also for providing precise tracking of remote cameras, ensuring infinite accuracy with zero response delay.

Revamped & Enhanced High Performance Pedestal (HP) range

Also showcased in Amsterdam was the revamped and enhanced High Performance Pedestal (HP) range. These updated pedestals now feature a manual elevation second stage for improved height adjustment during vertical movements. Additionally, the HP series has been redesigned with a new sliding roller mechanism, further reducing operating noise and delivering exceptional smoothness in movement.

All New Rail Clamp support for 75/100 bowl base heads

Last, but not least, new accessories presented at IBC were the new Rail Clamp support for 75/100mm bowl base heads. The Cartoni Rail Clamp allows head/camera systems to be safely secured to a banister, a truss or rollbar with two super safe clamps that secure stability of a compact hi-hat as head support. A ring facilitates the use of a safety steel cord to secure the camera. The Rail Clamp is ideal in sports, safaris, exceptional smoothness trekking, interviews, conferences, and commercials.
