Fairlight EVO for Network Ten

Fairlight and Gencom Technology assist in revolutionizing post-production workflow for Network Ten.

Australian commercial free-to-air broadcaster Network Ten, has created a brand new audio post production studio specifically for their new channel ‘ELEVEN’ and the centre piece of a recent audio upgrade is a brand new Fairlight EVO console.

‘Ten’ have a highly automated file based workflow based on AVID ISIS and Ardendo media asset management and central to the decision to go Fairlight was the ability to seamlessly handle the MXF file traffic. The studio will handle around 30-40 promos a day, each with multiple versions, and the EVO’s intuitive tactile Xynergi controller will take away the stress of powering through the high volume of editing and mixing.

Fairlight is extremely happy to welcome Network Ten to the growing number of broadcasters around the world choosing Fairlight technology for their HD studios” commented Fairlight’s Product Support Director, Joe Hammer who has worked closely with Ten’s audio department to specify and deliver the console.

“The launch of the latest free-to-air channel ‘ELEVEN’ saw the requirement for additional audio post facilities that were both flexible and stable but could also seamlessly integrate into our existing production systems. After extensive technical and operational evaluation the EVO proved to be successful on all fronts particularly from a speed of workflow and user interface perspective.” said Lee Elsdon – Network Ten’s Supervising Audio Director.

“We were impressed with Fairlight’s flexibility and responsiveness through the integration and testing period and look forward to their continuing support into the future.” added Michael Day – Network Ten’s Technology Solutions Manager Gencom, Fairlight’s principal business partner for Australasia, managed and delivered the system for Network Ten.

Gencom Technology CEO, Ray Sanders commented that, ‘Gencom and Fairlight have worked together to promote Fairlight products into the broadcast market and felt that the time was right to present EVO. We were very pleased that Network Ten took the time to thoroughly evaluate EVO and are delighted they felt it the best fit for their requirements”
