About Us

Gencom Technology is the longest established supplier of Television technology in Australasia having been founded in Wellington, New Zealand in 1969.

Gencom Technology is proud to be a New Zealand company and attributes its success to the television industry within New Zealand. Its facilities and technology leads the world with innovative studios, TV stations, playout centres, satellite head-ends and OB trucks. These facilities have enabled Gencom to be one of the best system integrators and equipment suppliers in the world. Gencom has expanded to other regions and now has offices in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Thailand and South Africa.

Gencom represents some of the world’s premier television manufacturers including Tektronix, Quartz, Fujinon, Ensemble, Ikegami, Ross Video and Tandberg among others, some of which we have worked with for over 30 years. Our staff continues to up skill and learn new technologies that our manufacturers continue to research and develop. The relationships between Gencom and its manufacturers are outstanding.

Gencom has been involved as an equipment supplier or system integrator in high profile worldwide television and production facilities. This includes, but is not limited to United Nations, TVNZ, TV3, HPTV, Prime, Digital Post, Images Post, Telstra-Clear, Moving Pictures, Sky Network, OSB, Maori Television Service, BBC, MTV, NZ Telecom, TNTV.

Gencom has built several entire Television Stations as well as Studios, Head-ends and OB vehicles. A number of projects have exceeded NZD$10m in value.
